Welcome to Risk Management Training (RMT).

Thank you for your willingness to serve as part of Disciple-making ministries at First Alliance Church with children, youth, or developmentally disabled adults. We believe strongly that the reaching and disciplemaking of children and youth is vital to the health of First Alliance today and the ongoing completion of the Great Commission tomorrow.

Thank you for being part of what we can only do together. May we continue to have safe, secure, and spiritual environments that allow the younger generations to discover God’s deep love for them, the vital and living truth of the Gospel, and what it means to love God supremely, love others selflessly, and love the world sacrificially.

This year, we are doing RMT differently. Instead of meeting for several hours to go over the material, we are asking that you read the Keeping Our Kids Safe Manual and then fill out the accompanying questionnaire. All of this will be done online and at your own leisure. Just a couple of things to remember:

1. Once you start the questionnaire you must finish it. It will probably take about an hour to complete.

2. You may refer to the manual as you fill out the questionnaire.

3. You must complete your questionnaire before your ministry begins and in time to complete the background check.

4. If this is the first time you’ve done Risk Management Training at FACT, you must submit the name, phone number, and email address for 3 references. You might want to have that information collected before you begin.

5. If you are under the age of 18, you must submit the name, phone number, and email address for 3 references. You might want to have that information collected before you begin.

6. When you submit your questionnaire, you will receive an email. In this email, you will be forwarded to a background check form. We will not be collecting ID’s or SSN’s. All of this information will be sent to the company performing the background check. Once completed, a copy of your background check will be sent to you and to us. There is no cost to you for the background check. If you are under the age of 18, you will not be sent a link for the background check. Keep in mind that background checks take up to 1 week to process. We must have your results on file before your ministry begins, so complete everything in the appropriate time.

7. If you would be willing to be an approved driver for the church, check the ‘driver’ box in the background check form. We would like all youth workers to be approved drivers.
