FACT Family News

We will be setting up the pumpkin patch on Saturday, September 26.  We need help! If you can help, please let pastor Luke know. Many hands make light work! 

There will be a Celebration of Life for Janet Scott on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall of First Alliance Church Toccoa.

Ladies, you are invited to a Bridal Shower celebrating Elizabeth Dunavan on Sunday afternoon, October 4 from 3:30 - 5:00 pm in the Family Life Center. Elizabeth is registered at Amazon.com.

If you haven't noticed, Coffee & Connect is packed every Sunday and we need help. We need several volunteers each Sunday to bring treats. If you can bake and provide at least one treat one month each Sunday, it would help us so much. We need things like muffins, donuts, pastries, and cookies. You don't even need to bake them yourself. Just pick up a treat at the grocery store. Drop off your treat at the Fellowship Hall. If you have questions or want to volunteer, please contact Karen Conkle at (706) 297-8746. 

Provide Candy for Trunk or Treat - It's time to buy candy for our Trunk or Treat ministry, being held on October 31. We need lots of candy! Last year over a 1000 people came to the event. If you can help provide candy for this ministry, please drop off your candy at the church office.  There is a box in hall where you can drop off your candy. 

Mark your calendars! Our Pumpkin Patch opens on October 1 and runs through October 31. We are going to need volunteers to help sell pumpkins. If this is a ministry that you could be involved with, please let Pastor Luke or Beth Petersheim know. All proceeds help support ministries to our youth and kids. 

Men, join us for breakfast. It is a sweet time of food and fellowship followed by prayer. Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 8:00 am in the Family Life Center.

FACT has a puzzle exchange which has recently moved to Room 302 in the Worship Center. If you have puzzles don't want any more or just want to get them out of your house, you can donate them to the puzzle exchange. You can also pick up a new puzzle to do. The puzzles will be on the shelves in Room 302 (across the hall from the Conference Room). Come help yourselves for a new challenge and fun!  Please follow the guidelines below:

• If you bring a puzzle, make sure the box is taped shut so we don't lose pieces.

• Please help keep the room neat by putting all puzzles on the shelves.

• After you do a puzzle, keep it, pass it on, or bring it back.

• Enjoy hours of fun! 

MONTHLY PRAYER FOCUS – Our FACT Brothers & Sisters in Christ

“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; 
the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, 
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”     Isaiah 43:2-3

 
Over the past few months, we have heard story after story of our people going through deep waters. So many people in our congregation are facing grief, illness, anxiety, uncertainty or other challenges. We have been overwhelmed by the things facing our brothers and sisters in Christ. So, this month, our prayer focus is on FACT and the people passing through deep waters. Jesus Himself knew sorrow, suffering, rejection, grief, and pain. Because of that, we can come to Him honestly. We do not have to pretend that everything is fine. God welcomes our prayers, our tears, our questions, and our need.  Please pray for those you know facing difficult situations. Pray that God will bring encouragement, solutions, healing, sustaining grace, and mercy. We are called to pray, encourage, visit, listen, serve, support, and remind one another of God’s love.
