Prayer

Prayer is the primary work of God’s people.
— A.B. Simpson, Founder of the Christian & Missionary Alliance

At First Alliance Church, we embrace this truth. Prayer is one of our core priorities and one of the 7 Marks of a disciple of Jesus Christ. Nothing of lasting value that matters can be done unless prayer is at the center of it. Prayer is the disciple's conversation with God where we express concerns, we listen for His guidance, and end up aligned with His will. It is also the first (but not only) way we can support one another.

There are multiple ways you can connect with others in prayer. Not only is prayer a normal part of Worship Services (for all ages), Discipling Communities, and Ministry Teams, but there are some specific times you can gather with others for intentional prayer. They are:

Sunday Evening Prayer
Sunday @ 5pm

Missions focused Prayer
Wednesdays @ 7pm

Prayer for Healing
Wednesdays @ 7pm

Women's Prayer Meeting
Wednesdays @ 10:30am

Men's Prayer Meeting
Saturdays @ 7am

These generally happen every week, but be sure to check the Church Calendar to confirm.

We encourage every disciple to make prayer a normal part of your daily life. You can discover specific prayer requests by talking with friends, neighbors, and co-workers. If you are associated with First Alliance, you can access the Weekly Prayer Guide in the Log-in section. Or access the weekly prayer requests for C&MA Ministries and for people groups of the world. And keep track of prayer requests with the Echo Prayer App.

You can also elect to received prayer requests throughout the week as they come in via email or text. Click the button below to let us know how you would like to receive requests. Of course, please know that choosing to receive requests means that you are making a commitment to pray faithfully for these requests. :-)

Monthly Prayer Focus

Each month, we engage in a prayer focus that is determined by our Team of Elders & Pastors (the spiritual leaders of the church). Prayer is one of the 7 Marks of a Healthy Disciple. This Monthly Prayer Focus is designed to draw the entire church to pray in unity in corporate gatherings, Discipling Communities, and as individuals about an area that we see as needing specific prayer.

Our desire is to see God move in significant ways in an area because of the power of prayer.

For March 2019, the prayer focus is Our Fresh Start.

As we look forward to the coming of the Rockwell’s, let us pray together in anticipation of our fresh start. Pray that the Lord would enlarge our vision of who He is, why His glory matters, and what it means to live surrendered to Christ in grace and love toward others. Pray that He would guide us clearly in engaging our world locally and globally together. Pray for Brian as he steps into the role of Lead Pastor, that the Lord would prepare, refresh, and ready Him to serve, love, and lead well in step with the Spirit. Pray for the Rockwell’s as they transition from Montana to Georgia and all that entails (packing, selling a house, driving, buying a house, getting settled). Pray that we would receive them well and that together we would pursue unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God becoming biblical, loving, Spirit-filled disciples living in the fullness of Christ alone.

When You Need Prayer...

There are times when we all need someone to pray for us. We're here for you. You can submit a prayer request via the link below. In addition, after every morning Worship Service there are Elders, with their wives, available in the Prayer Room for prayer and counsel for whatever is going on in your life. Or give us a call. Or stop by.
