Between the ages of 4-14, children are the most open to spiritual and developmental input. Through FACTkids (the Children’s Ministry at First Alliance Church) we seek to engage families in a partnership to train children to love and serve Jesus Christ, according to the truth of God’s Word, in a safe, caring and vibrant community environment.

Bottom line: We want to introduce boys and girls of all ages to Jesus Christ and partner with parents to lay a foundation for their life-long journey of discipleship while passing on spiritual truths. And do it in a safe and secure environment. This is a vital and important part of who we are at First Alliance Church.

Just like with youth and adults, we help children connect with Christ, grow with others, and engage the world in the unique ways children can through learning, worship, serving others, play, and building relationships with peers & adults. All in partnership with you as a parent.

FACTkids Ministry includes:

Kingdom Kids is the Sunday morning aspect of FACTkids ministry. After worshiping as part of the main service with their parents, kids are dismissed to learn bible stories and how those stories weave God’s story into our lives through high-energy videos and presentations in a 15 min. large group time. They will then spend 30 min. in small groups with leaders who know them, encourage them, and help them understand and apply the stories and lessons from Scripture! All of this is in partnership with parents, together helping kids connect to Christ, grow with others, and engage the world as disciples of Jesus!

On Wednesday evenings during the school year we do Awana Clubs for kids age 2-5th grade. Through a combination of games, large group times, small group interactions, and scripture memory, kids are exposed to the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. They receive a foundation of discipleship that will shape the rest of their lives, changing not only them but the world around them. Find out more about Awana and how you and your kids can get involved.

Nursery for Infants

The nursery is available to infants and babies ages 0-2 during Sunday mornings and Wednesday during the school year. You'll find it in the "Sweet Shoppe" in the Children's Wing. Follow the signs or ask a Greeter for help.

Toddlers

There is something special for children ages 2-3 during all Sunday morning ministries. Your child is invited to learn who God is, that He loves them, and to praise God with other kids on Sunday mornings in Noah's Pet Shop in the Children's Wing. There is time for play, learning, singing and eating. Follow the signs or ask one of the Greeters for help when you come.

Special Events & Camp

At various points throughout the year, we have special kid focused ministry opportunities and events.

We also partner with other churches in our region to offer kids a week long camping experience known as PowerTime Camp each year in June.

Keep up to date via the FACTweekly or this website.

What about the safety of my child?

We take the safety of children very seriously because of the world we live in today.

Church must be a safe place for children.  We understand that parents need to know that safety and security are among our highest priorities. Children cannot learn well if they are in an environment where they are afraid and don't feel spiritually, emotionally, and physically safe.  We want to make sure that you feel confident that we have your child's safety in mind.

All of our student ministry volunteers are required to attend a yearly risk management class which educates them on our safety protocols. This screening includes a criminal background check and personal references. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Pastor Terry.

When you bring your child for Awana, Kingdom Kids, etc., we have a check-in process in place that we ask everyone to abide by whether they’ve been part of First Alliance a long time or a short time.

  • Parents check their kid(s) in as they come in at a check-in station. If we have your info in the church system, the check-in process should be quick and easy. If this is your first time, we will need to get some info from you like who you are, your child’s name and age, basic contact info, and any allergy info.

  • Parents will receive a sticker for each child and a parent claim tag. Place the kid’s tag on the back of their clothing.

  • On Sunday mornings, kids (age 4-5th grade) will be dismissed from the service. Any kid without a tag will need a parent to come with them to get checked in. Once Nursery & Toddlers resume, kids will be taken directly to their room. For Awana on Wednesday, kids will go directly to their room.

    • Parents of Nursery and Toddler aged children will also receive a number that will allow us to get in touch with you in case your child needs you during the service.

  • Group leaders will verify we’ve got everybody based on the list of who has been checked in.

  • At the end of the Sunday service, parents bring their claim tag to the Children’s Wing to pick up their kid(s) from their room. Only family members (preferably parents or grandparents) with the claim tag will be allowed to enter the Children’s Wing. Our volunteers are not allowed to release any child without the corresponding claim tag. We also ask that you don't send big brother or big sister.

We also seek to maintain a healthy environment the prevents the spread of germs, especially during cold and flu season. We ask for your help in reviewing and abiding by our Wellness Guidelines

Thanks for letting us partner with you in the raising of your children as disciples of Jesus Christ. Be sure to ask if you have any questions or needs. Check out the Resource & Links page for some recommended spiritual resources.
