Between the ages of 4-14, children are the most open to spiritual and developmental input. Through FACTKIDS (the Children’s Ministry at First Alliance Church) we seek to engage families in a partnership to train children to love and serve Jesus Christ, according to the truth of God’s Word, in a safe, caring and vibrant community environment.
Bottom line: We want to introduce boys and girls of all ages to Jesus Christ and partner with parents to lay a foundation for their life-long journey of discipleship while passing on spiritual truths. And do it in a safe and secure environment. This is a vital and important part of who we are at First Alliance Church.
Just like with youth and adults, we help children connect with Christ, grow with others, and engage the world in the unique way children can through learning, worship, serving others, play, and building relationships with peers and adults.
What about my infant?
Babies are a gift from God! Our nursery is available to infants and toddlers ages 0-2 during all Sunday morning ministries. You'll find it in the "Sweet Shop" in our Children's Wing. Follow the signs or ask a Greeter for help.
When you drop your child off, we'll get some information from you and give you a number. This number will allow us to notify you if your child needs you. You'll need to bring the number back with you when you pick up your child. Our volunteers are not allowed to release any infants without the corresponding number. We also ask that you don't send big brother or big sister.
What about my toddlers?
There is something special for children ages 2-3 during all Sunday morning ministries. Your child is invited to learn who God is, that He loves them, and to praise God with other kids on Sunday mornings in Noah's Pet Shop in our Children's Wing. There is time for play, learning, singing and eating. Follow the signs or ask one of the Greeters for help when you come.
As with the infants, when you drop your toddler off, we'll get some information from you and give you a number. This number will allow us to notify you if your child needs you. You'll need to bring the number back with you when you pick up your child. Our volunteers are not allowed to release any toddlers without the corresponding number. We also ask that you don't send big brother or big sister.
What if I have older kids?
At 9am, we have Sunday School classes for children age 4 years old through 5th grade where they learn the truth of God's Word. These are in the Children's Wing.
Room 311 for 4yrs old - K
Room 314 for Grades 1 & 2
Room 315 for Grades 3-5
During the 10:30am Worship Service, your child (age 4 - 5th grade) will begin in the Sanctuary with you before being dismissed part way through for G.C. Kids Club where everyone belongs! Children enjoy their own time of worship and a focused Bible lesson fit for their age level in Children's Church.
At the end of either service, please make your way to the Children's Wing (follow other parents) to pick up your child.
On Wednesday evenings we offer Awana Clubs for kids age 2-6th grade. Through a combination of athletic games, group times, small group interactions, and scripture memory, children are exposed to the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. They receive a foundation of discipleship that will shape the rest of their lives, changing not only them but the world around them. Find out more about Awana and how you and your kids can get involved.
And the Rest...
We also partner with other churches in our region to offer kids a week long camping experience known as PowerTime Camp each year in June in addition to special kids focused events throughout the year. Keep up to date via the bulletin or this website.
What about safety?
Church must be a safe place for children. We understand that parents need to know that safety and security are among our highest priorities. Children cannot learn well if they are in an environment where they are afraid and don't feel spiritually, emotionally, and physically safe. We want to make sure that you feel confident that we have your child's utmost safety in mind.
We ask that you fill out a registration form so that we can get to know you and your children better. This will ensure that we know your child's name, age, any allergies, and contact information. It also ensures that your child will only be released to you and others you approve.
All of our children's ministry volunteers are required to attend a risk management class which educates them on our safety protocols. This screening also includes a criminal background check and personal references. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Pastor Chris.
We also seek to maintain a healthy environment the prevents the spread of germs, especially during cold and flu season. We ask for your help in reviewing and abiding by our Wellness Guidelines.
Thanks for letting us partner with you in the raising of your children as disciples of Jesus Christ. Be sure to ask if you have any questions or needs. Check out the Resource & Links page for some recommended spiritual resources or click below to visit the
